Lobeplasty

Gauged ears were once a prominent fashion statement. However, trends have a way of changing, what once seemed like a good idea, may be causing you a great deal of discomfort now. If your earlobes are damaged due to gauging or injury, we’re happy to offer our treatment services.

Torn earlobes can occur in a number of ways. Some of the most common causes are lacerations, tears, bites, and other forceful motions.

The elasticity and vascularity of most ears allow individuals to stretch them far beyond their standard size without the risk of tearing.

However, stretching your ears beyond 8mm causes them to enter “the point of no return.” Past this level, stretched ears lose the ability to shrink back to regular size. Once this happens, tears become much more likely.

Who is a good candidate?

Good candidates for this surgery are usually men or women who are concerned about large or misshapen earlobes. During your preliminary consultation, we will discuss your medical history, any current medications you are taking, as well as what you hope to achieve from the surgery. We will also assess the condition of your earlobes to determine the best way to approach your individual procedure.

Ideal candidates for earlobe reduction (lobuloplasty) are usually in good physical health. If you are in good physical health and are seeking to rectify dilated piercings, hereditary earlobe deformities, or naturally large earlobes, you could be a candidate for this procedure.

In different societies, auricular lobules are pierced for religious, cosmetic, and social reasons. Partial or complete tear of the auricular lobule is an important situation that is very common in women and leads to cosmetic deformity.

The use of earrings and heavy metals such as “piercing” leads to permanent deformities in the auricular lobule owing to the effect of gravity. It causes tearing in the auricular lobule due to age, trauma, and mechanical factors.

The most frequent causes of the clefts in the auricular lobule are that the holes made in the auricule for ornamentation expand over time and that the ornaments separate the lips of the cleft from each other with the influence of gravity, thereby causing permanent holes.

Facial aesthetics develops depending on the symmetry and harmony of the facial skeletons and soft structures.

The auricular lobule has an important place in face and ear aesthetics. It is generally conical and round in shape and is an important anatomical formation that allows women to wear accessories such as earrings.

It has different shapes, and sometimes it can attract a lot of attention on the face.
